You need to buy a router.  If these two computers are not going to be right next to the router where you can plug them in with a cable, you have 2 options: wireless or powerline.

Many people think that if your computer is in a different room than your modem that you need to buy a wireless router.  This is not true.  You need wireless if you are going to use your laptop to roam around the house.  However, stationary devices can use powerline.  Although wireless might be cheaper, powerline is so  much easier to setup.  Here are some links to check out for powerline: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis...

The other option is wireless.  Again, wireless devices are great for devices that are going to be used for roaming.  You can set wireless up to be just as secure as ethernet, but it is difficult for most novice users to do.  That is why I tell novice users to stay away.  You can have a professional setup your wireless secure, but then you will be spending more money than if you would just go powerline.

you more then likily have to buy a network adapter. They will alow from 2 up to 12 or more computers link and share internet access. They are easy to install just follow the derections that cme with them.

You must have the (wireless) router

for the network adaptor to work.

So you need both a routher and or a network adaptor.

The network adaptor is for wireless.

An "n" adaptor will catch open signals

from unprotected wireless network routers

Because a "regular" router is hard wired
