How do I connect 2 computers to one modem??

Question

Is it possible for me to have tow computer, one a desktop, one is a laptop, to share the same internet connection??

I don't want a wireless connection, I just want a wired connection...

You need to by a wireless router that has switch ports (Linksys Broadband Router).  You can use the ethernet ports without running the wireless signal.  You can buy a switch, but since they can cost just as much as the router you may as well get the more advanced equipment.  I know you said that you don't want to connect wireless right now but at least you have the option to do so if you change your mind later.  

Remember:  The internet connection that is going from your modem to the pc need to go from the modem to the ethernet port on the router.  Then you connect your laptop and pc to the LAN ports on the router or switch
