How do I connect a Panasonic VDR-D200 or VDR-D100 to a laptop with Windows Vista?

Please help! I have a video saved on a 3 inch hp dvd-r 1.4 gb disk. I need to copy it onto a plain disk(CD). Please let me know what programs that you think I will need to do this. <3

If you have a mini dvd camcorder….

You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer&#039;s DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (I downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.

minidvd-rw can not be finalized.

it depends.  if you are using a DVD-R, the format is DVD-V and you have to finalize.  connect the camcorder via USB and it should display as a drive in your drive list under the Computer.

You do not need to convert DVD files if they are DVD-V formatted.  Browse the disc and find the VIDEO_TS folder and open it.  There will be some BUP, IFO and VOB files.  Copy the VOB files to your hard drive and rename them to .MPG and they will play fine.

If you have a DVD-RW you have the option many times to format in either V or VR format.  If you format in V, it works the same as above.  If you format in VR you have to combine the information in the IFO files w/ the VRO files - which requires software.  Again, disc must be finalized.

If you are using DVD-RAM, it&#039;s only DVD-VR.  Any time you format in VR, the folder is no longer VIDEO_TS, it changes to DVD_RTAV and instead of VOB files you get VRO files.  You can try copying them, as well - but these do not include the chapter, title and timing information of the VOB, it&#039;s contained separately in the IFO.  Therefore, they may playback erratically or out of order.
