How do I connect a Sony CDX-4270R to my car?

Hi,

my car radio has been stolen and now I want to connect my uncle's old Sony CDX-4270R. I have downloaded a manual, but I am a lay person and have no clue as to what all those things mean, also, the cables in my car are a different colour to the ones on the radio and there is one less on the radio than on the car.

Is it worth installing it and how much does it cost if I let someone do it?

Or is it better to buy a new one and let it be installed at the shop?

  1. If you don't know what your doing you should pop down to Halfords and let them install it for a small fee.

  2. you should go to your nearest auto-zone or sears, they will install it for a small fee

  3. install it urself..... With electrical wiring !!!!

  4. The Sony has standard DIN connectors for speakers & power, which should match any recent car wiring - are you sure the car doesn't have a plug to go straight into the back of the stereo? If not, take the car & stereo to Halfords & ask someone there - they sell adapters to fit specific cars to standard stereos & vice versa.

as per the installation manual from Sony, you should have the little plug that fits in the back of the stereo, and a lead ending in the two, larger DIN standard plugs.
