  1. A stereo will be far better with this....

I found the best thing since sliced bread...http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9oDEWuNVIo6...

It's not wireless so there's no interference. Not to be confused with an FM transmitter. Basically it adds an AUX input to ANY radio. No searching for a clean channel.

It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off. It comes with an On/Off switch.

This is the answer. Totally versatile.

  2. Go to radio shack and buy phone jack. One end hook up to mp3 player and and the other end cut it off and hook up to factory speakers. You will hear some sound but not loud. Its cheap way to do it or just buy car stereo come with mp3 player input.

  3. if you have a small amp laying around you can connect your mp3 player to that and then from the amp to the speakers, it would be just as loud as a normal stereo. other wise i would do what crazyboy said

    .........................................

first thing is to connect the amps power and ground

it would probally be easier to buy a wire harness for a stereo and use those wires because then your amp will turn on with your car. (yellow-power,black-ground,red-remote turn on)

--only use radio power if it is a small amp other wise you will have to run your own power and ground---

once you get the amp on and running connect the output wires from the amp to the speaker wires on the wire harness. (green=+,green/black=-,purple=+,purple/b... Green& purple are the back white and grey are the front

now you need a cord for your mp3 player that converts it to RCA outputs. Some thing like this

you can buy cheap ones that converts a headphone jack into rca plugs this way when you turn up your mp3 volume so will the speakers. ---or you can make one if you have some old rca cables and headphones.-----

plug the rca cables into the amplifiers input plugs.

For this much effort i would suggest just putting in a CD player
