  1. you need to buy a wireless reciever and then share the PCs on the Network and then you can connect them to each other this should only cost about 20 bucks if you get a used one off craigslist.Email me at Methylacid@yahoo.com. For more detailed instructions.xD Have a nice day

  2. 2 options

    1)  get a really long ethernet cable to reach from the wireless router to the 2nd computer (there should be enough ports in the back of your wireless router)

    2) Get a wireless usb adapter for your 2nd desktop (if your desktop has no way of picking up a wireless signal, which it probably doesnt). If your 2nd desktop has usb slots, you can put on a wireless usb adapter and it will receive signal from your wireless router.

you can probably find one cheaper than this but i think this is it:

  3. These links should help.

  4. Unless the downstairs computer already has a wireless network adapter, you're going to have to spend money for some hardware.

In a nutshell, you could get an Ethernet cable and run it from the downstairs computer to the router.  This has the advantages of simplicity and security (wired connections are easier to set up and can't be hacked), but the disadvantage of having to run the cable.

Or you could get a wireless network adapter (check your machine's specifications to make sure there's a slot for it and what type of slot it is) and connect that way.

Note that in either case, you're talking less than $100, probably less than $75.

    Hope that helps.
