Well, you can pretty much say I bought my equipment blindfolded.

From what I've heard, my amp is only good enough to take complete advantage of my subwoofer, but useless if I hook in my speakers as well. Is this right? Here are the specs:

600 w max 4 channel 60w x4 (4ohms) 600w max (2ohms) amp

600 w max subwoofer 4 ohms

300 w max 6x9 rear speakers

260 w max 6 1/2' front speakers

  1. Well I've heard that if you only use one speaker on a multichannel amp that it will supply all power to that one speaker.

I am not sure if that part is true but if your good with speaker wire and have lots of electrical tape you can run all four channels together, and run them all to your amp as one.  I have a mono amp, one channel 1200 watt and I ran that single output to two 12"s.

    There you go

  2. First off, ignore MAX power ratings. These are arbitrary numbers with no real measurement.

RMS power is the nominal power rating to go by.

With that, you'd be better of with getteing a mono amp for subs as that's what they're made for.

The most you can get out of your current amp is 120 watts RMS, which isn't much for a sub.
