Do you mean a receiver?because most amplifiers are to channels and they don't have all the connections to hook up a variety of equipment but a receiver will do the trick.for a high quality connection for the dvd use a component cables colours are blue, red, and green plus you need optical cable for sounds for this to work if you don't have it in the receiver or dvd use audio cables red and white remember dvd out to the input of the receiver.the second quality hook up use audio and video cables colours are red,white audio and yellow for video output dvd to the input of the receiver remember that the receiver has a location to put dvd with dvd tv with tv and so on LCD tv is the same theory when using audio and video cables but if you want a higher quality hook up use either the component cable if available or the high definition cable.Good luck!
