I am trying to set up a wireless home network. I keep having trouble with the setup CD that came with the router. When I finally did get connected, the computer said it could connected to the router, but could not detect an internet connection. How do I fix this?

I connected the Ethernet cable from my laptop to the forth LAN port on the router. The router is connected to my cable box modem with the Ethernet cable. How do I connect the desktop PC to the router?

  1. I'm not sure if this will work but you can try:

    Click start, then Control Panel

    Click Network and Sharing Center

Click on the picture that says Network

    Then click Add Wireless Device

See where that takes you. Hope i helped!

  2. first connect the modem by a usb wire. DO the setup and then use the ethernet cable. It will work.

  3. well first off, u need to plug the cable modem to the wan port on the router then u can connect ethernet cable from router to the pc and if you laptop is wireless capable u dont need to plug it to the router.u connect the pc with an ethernet cable in any of the open ports on the router
