How do I connect my rotary phone to a BT phone line?

I have an old rotary phone that I would like to connect to a BT phone line. The phone has a lead coming out of it with a blue, red, brown and white wire. How can I connect it so I can use it?

You will be using the blue and white wire for your phone.  Beware, if you cannot call out with your rotary phone, you may have to call the phone company and tell them you are using a rotary phone.  Pulse and Tone is a software configuration to your phone service that resides in the phone company's 'switch and is programmed by the phone company.
