I have cinema surround sound and a woofer connected up through my DVD player,at the moment it only works if I play a dvd.I have the tv,video and DVD pleyer all connected to each other, with the surround sound connected only to the dvd. I want the surround sound to come on all the time not just when I watch dvds. Ive looked at the back of the dvd and there are so many wires can someone please explain how to do this as I am sure there must be another cable I need.

  1. you plug the yellow wire from the tv into the slot that says tv out or out ect. in the surround sound

then take the yellow white and red wires and insert it to the surround sound from the cable/sattalite box.

you can do this with other items as well

the only thing is that the tv will have no sound only the surround sound.

  2. Check on the back of you TV to see if there is an audio output. Some TVs have fixed audio out and some have variable. Variable will make it so when you turn the volume down on the TV the surround sound will go down too, Down side to this is the audio doesn't come thru as loud on variable. But if you hook up the fixed audio out to the audio in on the surround system then anything that comes thru your TV will come thru the speakers.

  3. As has already been mentioned, your TV (if it is a modern LCD/ Plasma etc) should have AUDIO OUT (Left / Right) sockets plus the usual SCART and pehaps also a HDMI socket.

You need to connect the AUDIO OUT to the AUDIO IN on the back of the DVD Home Cinema player.

There should be a 'AUX' setting that switches the DVD screen off but relays the TV audio through your speaker system.

If this still doesnt work, read the instruction manual. If you have lost it, go to the manufacturers website and download it!

  4. you need whats called a Audio/Video receiver. You get all in one basic packages for cheap. What it does is it acts as like a router so to speak that you plug all your video/audio components into. then when you want to hear/see that component like DVD or VRC or TV you switch it to that.

  5. see if your dvd player has in aux setting if so put it on this setting. you know instead of putting it on dvd or on the radio put it on aux. this allows you to play the surrond sound through the tv, or at lest that what it does for me

  6. sorry dont know..but i had to answer this so that i can go back & read it again in my answers - as we have the same problem!!  thank you anyway...sorry cant help!  good answer from mrsc!

  7. use the cable with the white, yellow and red plugs. plug white and red into tv and surround system and thats you. you may have to use the function button to set to aux as we do. we actually have hooked our sky box to the dvd player.
