I have a wired pc (XP) with at&t dsl-I want to connect my wireless laptop (WiFi) to that pc instead of using other hotspots. I hope I'm phrasing this correct. Do I just need a wireless router to connect to my DSL modem? Do I need anything additional for my laptop. Thanks for the help.

  1. You will need a wireless router and that should do it.  Make sure it supports your wifi type A, B, G or N.  You should be able to find that in the Control Panel of your laptop.  Click on System and Click the Hardware tab.  Click the Device Manager Button and look for you wifi card to see what type it is.   Most likely it will be Wireless G.

  2. Hello, Yes a wireless router will do the trick. the desktop pc will still be wire..unless you get a wireless card for it..other then that should be fine..Hope this helps
