  1. You can't connect the speaker wires directly into the computer. You need to have the speakers connected to a receiver, then a cable the will either connect from the speaker output of your pc to your receiver or if you have a newer pc it might have a digital optical or coax connection which will give you better sound.

  2. Buy a stereo mini cable (the kind your pc uses) and cut off one end. Connect the braded wire to the two negatives of your speakers. Connect one of the wires to positive right channel, usually the lighter colored wire is right channel or sometimes red is used for right channel possitive. Connect the other wire to left channel possitive. Solder the connections if you can and tape, or at least tape.

The volume may be lower than you expect because the sound cards generally don't put out much power. If you have an old stereo receiver laying around, go to radio shack and buy a stereo mini to rca (red/white) cable and connect it to your receiver. You'll know where the speakers go.

  3. Be careful what type of speakers you try to connect directly. Audio cards provide very low power, mostly to drive headphones or very low power speakers (about 2-5 watts).

I would not recommend connecting ANY speakers directly.

Just buy a pair of computer speakers with built-in amplifier, they are very cheap.
