How do I connect tivo to wireless internet?

I've done this at my own home, however, the case was that I already had tivo and bought wireless equipment later. So, the password info was readily available.

In this situation, I gave a tivo as a gift to my boyfriend who already had wireless internet. I'm assuming I need the the looooooong alpha numeric password to connect his new tivo to his wireless network, however, he doesn't know what or where the password information is. Is there another way?

If he has security enabled you will need the password to access his wireless network.  Tell him to log into his wireless router to view the current password.    Normally you enter the IP of the router ( 192.168.2.1 for example) from a browser to get access to the router admin settings.   Find the manual on the web for the specific router and it will tell which IP to enter.  If all else fails he should be able to reset the router which will restore the default settings.  You can then create a new password.
