How do I connect to my new wireless internet, and how do I change the settings for my computer?

I have new wireless internet, every computer in the house but mine connects just fine. I have windows vista so it is pretty new I got it December 2007. When I try to connect to it, the message tells me "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network", How can I change the settings or get on the internet? Please help :0)

  1. Check the settings on your other computer and make sure they are the same.  Then you can change it by going here:

    1) Control Panel

    2) Network and Internet

    3) Network and Sharing Center

    4) Click on Manage Network Connections on the left side of screen

    5) Right click the connection and select Properties

    6) Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)

    7) Click Properties

    8) Try clicking on Obtain an IP address automatically.  If that does work, click Use the following IP address and enter the same info that you have on the computers in your house that are using the same connection.  Change the last digits of your IP address so that it's different than your other computers (each must have it's own)

    Hope that works for you.  I was having the same problems connecting at work and it worked for me.
