How do I contribute to my HSA?

Its Anthem, and through work. Don't know if I need to go through work or Anthem??

  1. You should speak to your human resources department about this.  Every place has their own way of doing things.  Contributions to the HSA is usually done through payroll deductions, I believe.

  3. First, have you established your HSA account? It is a private account that only you have access to much like your current banking account. Where your employer comes in is that it sounds as if they will be making either all of a portion of your contribution. If they are making a portion of it, it will be pre-tax. If you want to contribute a portion in addition not to exceed your yearly maximum of either $2900 for an individual or $5800 for a family. Talk to the human resources dept if there is one or whoever handles payroll to set up an agreement to payroll deduct whatever amount you wish to contribute per pay period.
