How do I convert 79' 9" to scale if 1 inch = 100ft? Can someone please show me a formula?

I am trying to make a map and I am just frustrating myself with the scale. I think I am confusing myself.

((feet multiplied by 12) +inches) multiplied by the scale)

Take the number of inches and divide by 12, add the number of feet and divide this total by 100.

So, say you're given A'B" to convert.
