How do I convert a DVD to audio file?

I'm trying to convert a music DVD of mine to audio files so I can listen to them on my iPod or whatever.. can anyone help me with this?

VOB, Mpeg, Mpeg4, Mpeg TS, AVI, WMV. so, I can play the video on most portable player. in

iPod accepts only MP4 videos,you need a professional third party software to rip ur DVDs to MP4 videos.

you can try handbrake,http://handbrake.fr , it's totally free ,
