For a project, I used a camcorder that uses DVD-R disks for recording a movie. I need to edit the clips, rearrange them, cut, etc..but I can't convert the VOB file into something that will work with Windows Movie Maker. The cd is write protected and I can't covert the files into Movie Maker. Help?

  1. Convert .vob files to .avi or wmv. Try Prism, Super or Kate's video converters

  2. If your computer has a drawer loading DVD optical drive, download and install HandBrake and rip the DVD.

If your computer has a slot loading DVD drive or the optical drive can only handle CDs, you will need to convert the video with an analog/digital bridge.

If your computer has USB only:

If your computer has Firewire (IEEE1394a, I.Link - all the same thing):
