How do I convert fractional odds into decimals? I would like to know the process.?

I know that say 4 to 1 is 5.00 in decimals, but how do you reach that conclusion? What would say 13 to 8 be? or 2 to 5?

Divide the right digit into the left digit on your calculator and add 1. The 1 is your return of stake.

13 to 8 = 2.625.

2   to 5 = 1.4.
