I'm sure it depends on the molecule. I'm looking for 1Pentene, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, and NPentane.

  1. 1 KJ = 0.948 BTU

    1 mole = 0.79 cubic feet

    Example:

    Natural gas = 802.6 KJ/mole

    natural gas = 760.72 BTUs/0.79 cubic feet = 961 BTUs/scf

Find the value for the enthalpy of each molecule in KJ/mole, then multiply by 1.2 (which equals 0.948/0.79) to give BTUs/scf.

To get the enthalpy values, you could use the second source below.
