I just bought a HG10 Canon, HD video camera. I can download them to my computer, and play them with only one program, and would like to convert them to avi without losing my quality. Does anybody know a good program for that?

  1. Your HG10 uses AVCHD compression. You need to find an editor that can deal with your camera's format. Not all video editors that state AVCHD compatibility can use video from all cameras... Check Adobe Premiere. I do not believe Sony Vegas will work with your HG10.

Once in the video editor, you can "Save As..." or export to various formats.

  2. As you want to convert the HD videos, you may find many such softwares on

    Google or other downloading websites.

Here, I found efficient one with good quality

You can free download it to have a try.

    http://www.wmatomp3-converter.com/digita...

It can perform all types of conversion including video to video, video to audio, and audio to audio (WMA, WMV, MP3, M4A,FLV, RMVB, MOV ect), EVEN high-definition video  (M2TS, TP, TRP, TS, AVI), then you can play them with different players such as iPod, PSP, Zune, Creative Zen, Archos, etc.
