I'm trying to solve a math problem and I have some measurements in square footage and others in footage. I know that I need to convert the measurements to be uniform for calculation purposes, but I don't know how to achieve this result.

  1. You are trying to compare 2 diff things. Let me try to explain. When you measure something in foot it is something like length of a room e.g. 10 ft.

But when you measure area it is square foot .. so when you have a room 10 ft long and 5 ft wide the area is 10*5 = 50 sq ft.

    Hope this answers

  2. Feet = lengh measuring unit  >>> ( ft )

      1 feet = 12 inch

    square feet  = area measurement >>> ( ft^2 )

      1 square feet = 12^2 = 144 square inch

    Procedure :

1- use the above to convert all units into feet.

2- multiply the lenght by the breadth to get the area.

  3. You can't convert 'feet' into square feet. They measure different things.

Square footage is a measure of an area. A piece of 8 inch by 10 inch paper has 8 x 10 or 80 square inches of area.

A 10 inch line drawn on the paper on in the dirt has no area.

    Good luck.

  4. if a room is 10 feet wide by 10 feet long all you do is times the 2 together to get 100 square feet.
