How do I convert my SMF forum to PHPBB?

I have a SMF v.1.1.5 forum and would like to convert it to PHPBB3. I have looked on the PHPBB site but there is no detailed tutorial on how to do this. Do I install PHPBB in the same directory?

Can someone please help me out on what to do step by step on how to convert this?

  1. I've never done that before but most of the time when converting from one forum to the other.  

    Back everything up php files and database.

    Now you need to convert the database to do this you will have to find a script probably from phpbb

    upload and configure your phpbb php files (doesn't really matter what directory as long as you configure it properly)

    test everything carefully before allowing others on it
