Question:

How do I convert my tape from my DCR-HC28E (video camera) to a DVD, or to the computer?

I have all the connections that came with it, cept I lost the instruction booklet...

  1. The DCR-HC28E is a MiniDV camcorder, so you'll need to transfer the video via firewire. If your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable.

    Once everything's connected you can capture and edit the video with Windows Movie Maker (should already be on your PC), save it as DV-AVI (it's under Save on My Computer, Best quality show more choices, Other settings) and then write it to DVD using DVD Flick.
