How do I convert raw to JPEG (.JPG) in photoshop elements 6?

i'm using panasonic fz18 & its converting to JPEG2000(.JPF ext) not to .jpg

  1. go to save for web and you can save it as a JPEG


  2. I'm guessing that you don't get a jpg format selection because you have 12 or more bits per color due to the raw image format. Regular old jpg is an 8-bit per color format. JPEG2000 can handle oodles of bits per color. You may need to convert your image to 8-bits per color (channel) before the standard jpg format appears in save as. In standard Photoshop, this is accessed via Image|Mode|8 Bits/Channel.

  3. On the menu bar, click on "File" then "Save As...".

    Select the '.jpg' format for saving the file from the drop-down list on the Save pane.

  4. it should show up if you open the picture and then choose save as jpeg
