Question:

How do I convince mom to let me withdraw from my bank account?

I decided to wait for my allowance ($20 a month) then withdraw $40 from the bank. I wanted to get an IM-Me. I was acting funny about it but she knew I was serious. I told her as soon as I make $40, I would put it back in the bank. How do I convince her? How do I show her I'm responsible? I want to show her my plan. I can tell it wasn't a final 'no' so I still have a chance. Though she didn't exactly, right out say no. Just all the c**p about saving money. I didn't ask her for money or raise on my allowance, just if I could get some money from my bank account. I have $558 in all, and this is the first time I asked her this question to withdraw. Please help!

  1. Why not just save up and buy it with your allowance?  Or do some extra work for money?  Mow lawns, babysit, etc.

  2. Rick B has the right answer.  If you want to convince your mom that you're responsible, then show her that you are by finding a way to make the money instead of taking it out of your savings account.

  3. Make sure she is taking you serious. Also try to show her this IM-Me is worth the $40 dollars. Parents don't like there kids to buy things because in 2 weeks your done with it. Try to get some extra money on the side. You could also try to see if she would let you take $5 to $10 a week from your allowance and put it towards you IM-Me, this way your not touching your savings.
