How do I convince my friends to play RPGs with me?

I like table top RPGs and I have been dying to play for a long time, but my old buddies have moved away. my Girlfriend has played once or twice, but i just can't seem to get her to Role play... also my other friend has never played before, and i want to show him how... how do I get others involved and get them to want to play if they are new or have poor role playing skills?

Find like a gaming store or hobby or comic book shop near you and see if there are any gamers there that would want to play and you could always ask your friends if they would be interested in learning how to play.
