How do I convince my mom let me get a dog????

Okay, so my older sister has a Chocolate Lab, but never takes care of it. I want my own dog, but my mom won't let me because she thinks I'm going to do what my sister did! So how do i convince her to let me get a dog? O and i want a small dog because they are easier so if you know any breeds that are cute and easy, please let me know!! THANKS!!!! :)

You won't after the experience with your sister and her dog.

Take care of your sister's lab, that will show your mom that you are more responsible than your sister - she should be ashamed of herself.

Mom says no then the answer is no.  Mom is t he one who will be paying the bills for the dogs.  Help your sister take care of the dog you have.

Why don't you take care of the other dog? Dogs don't belong to just one person, they belong to the whole family - so prove that you can be responsible and take care of the Lab for a while. Barring that, don't push the issue. If mom doesn't want to spend more money on a second dog then she shouldn't have to.

FYI - smaller doesn't mean less work. All dogs need the same amount of care. Some smaller dogs even need more training - they're harder to potty train, they tend to need more socialization (big dog syndrome... they think they need to be tough), and so on.
