How do I convince my mom to let me dye part of...?

Question

I want to dye like the underneath part of my hair a color. Like 2 inches in length, so not very much. I have blonde hair and I want to know what color would look best. Thanks!

dye it dark brown! if you have dark brown eyes or somthing. it depends a lot of things like how well your hair is cut and shaped. but dying your hair underneath dark brown will look super good trust me.

I don't blame your mom. Since you have blonde hair, its hard to get that color back once you dye it. You might regret it and your hair will never be the same.

Dark brown or black seem to be very popular colors beneath blond right now. I'd suggest staying away from reds, they tend to bleed a lot and may turn the blond part pink.

Say its not like I'm doing drugs I'm a good kid...I deserve to express myself in a way that doesn't hurt me or others.....Tell her your a creative soul...try Aqua or Teal( a blue with some green in it) ...try manic panic hair dyes...if you are trying to get a color like from the rainbow like I think your talking about,if your hair is not blonde enough you might have to bleach only the underneath or the part you want to be colored first before, applying the actual color,cause the color dye will show up best on very light hair....Bleaching hair is when you goto a beauty supply store or just the store and buy a hair bleaching or lightening kit it's in the hair dye isle or you can find everything at Sally Beauty Supply store or sometimes at Hottopic.......NEVER USE HOUSEHOLD BLEACH OR BLEACH CLEANER ON YOUR HAIR....they are different kinds of bleaches

Hair grows constantly so even if you purchase permanent dye it only stays in for like three months so its not too bad.   Just try and get her to see that you are responsible.   I'm one for funky colors if that's what you like try like purple    but for your moms sake you may want to go like brown.

lol..i did that.. umm.. it depends on how your mom is.. if shes a cool mom then shell let you do it right away, and will even help you.  If shes like doubtful just give her some reasonable excuses don't ever tell her that its because everyone is doing it. Just be nice about it and be like i like it and i would appreciate it if you would just share such craziness with me, you know talk to her like a buddy, cuz that's what most moms what to be seen as mothers but also to be seen as friends, people you can trust and talk with about anything, even if it was as random as dying your hair.

how about you put black high lights in it or brown high lights. you should tell her it is something you really want and it will make you happier that way. nothing makes a parent happier than to tell them that your happy with what you have and look like.

Purple or pink. Or if your mom will freak you should dye it dark brown or black. Tell her it's hair and it won't be that way forever. Or tell her you want piercings all over your face and in your navel. Then hair wont seem as bad to her.

Nobody will see it anyways, and you cant convince her if she doesn't want you to.  Wait till your 18 and your an adult, then you can do what you want and pay for it yourself.

that would be cute... but i would just ask her and remind her that its just hair you can always cut it or dye it back if you don't like it. and depending on how old you are or what risk your willing to take i would just do it, mostly likely she will like the outcome. i dyed my hair bright red when i was 14 without my moms permission and she was shocked at first but got over it because it was already done. She will get used to it, now i dye my hair all the time and every time i try something different she always just says " its your hair you have to deal with it" lol good luck

dye it medium brown. You know if your mother doesn't want you to, why do you have to twist her arm? If it's a naturalish color, it should be a good excuse to get it done, otherwise, you'll just have to wait till you move out, like everything else you're not allowed to do.

Not everyone has a decent haircolor though, matthew, although, you're right, most of the time. But girls struggle to show individuality, and this is one way to do it. Plus we like to do things to ourselves. It's fun. If WE like the way we look, we'll be more confident.

there really is no way to convince.  She has probably made her decision about it already.  Maybe try to do it with a wash out dye on weekends or something.  You  may have better luck talking her into letting you give it a try with temp dye that only last a day or two.

BTW nickluvs... has a great point that blonde hair is harder to get rid of the dye.  Especially if you are a dyed blonde or use oher chemical treatments on your hair.

It is hard for mother's too except there "little girls" dye their hair, pierce anything, you will understand one day when you become a mother. So take it easy on her and try and understand where she is coming from, but also try and get her to understand you are no longer.a little girl and you want to express yourself,

You don't say how old you are but if you are under 18 and living with your mom, you basically have no rights.  If your mother objects to the idea you have for a two tone dye job, she's just trying to save you from looking too freakish.  You need a history of responsibility and and sound decision making with your mom before you can win her over.  As the mother of 3 daughters I can tell you that I didn't want my daughters to look cheap in any way and maybe your mom sees this as something that would make you look trashy.
