How do I convince my parents to get me a hamster?

My parents are saying no to a cat or dog, and I finally gave in. Now I am going for something smaller- a hamster, and they still say no. How do I convince them?

tell them all the good things about hamsters. don't mention one bad thing...that's not lying. i no convincing and that's a good way to convince! Tell them how cheap they are.

If you end up getting one, you have to get a pretty big cage for them and they must have a wheel.

My friend has a hamster and she told me all about them.

Stop asking them so frequently. Trust me, I'm an expert at this. Wait a couple weeks, then ask them again. Try doing better in school, even if you just started school. (I did.) Like, bring home good grades on quizzes and tests. Show them you're responsible. Clean up after yourself without them asking. Make your bed, do what they say, offer to do things for them. Usually, it takes a lot of sucking up.

Answer your own question. For the next month ask yourself 'is my room clean, have I done my chores, is my school work done, etc.'.  Once you have answered NO to any of your responsibilities you have your answer. If you can take care of yourself you maybe ready for a pet. Then present your case, if they still say no, I can't help ya, but you have taken a big step toward self improvement and self satisfaction.

Get a rat they are much more enjoyable. There like a tinyer version of dogs and are even smarter. If you google them u can find out how good they are. Ocne u tell ur parents how smart and good they are theyll hav 2 let u hav 1. nd no they are not desiease ridden varments. they are actully claner than us scientifily proven.

Ask if you can babysit a hamster...

Find someone who needs you to look after their pet hamster for a day or a week. Ask a friend who has one, or ask at a vet clinic or pet store or neighbors, advertise, do a letterbox drop, ask around at school. Don't ask for payment. They just supply hamster, cage and food.

If your parents can see that you can look after the hamster yourself and that it is no extra work or mess for them, they might agree. Keep the cage very clean. Show your parents that the cage doesn't smell and that you care for it without bothering them and then they will see that it's not so bad to have a pet.

Get a job after school so you can pay for hamster, cage, wheel, toys and food.

say your gonna throw up for everyday they dont get you a hamster, then do it, they will crack....trust me. or just say thats what you want for christmas and dont ask for nothing else, that always works, or get your grandma to buy you one, also hamsters like it in cages, my sister bought one and it has no problem, when their free their life expectancy is like 2 weeks, in a cage its 2 years

yea get a hamster!!!!!!

u should tell them it will be easy to handle and not too much money!

do chores fro them and also tell them that it will be a good expierience for u as u will be taking care of it urself and it will help u become responsible!

also u could like work for them and save up the money to buy everything for urself and they wouldnt have to spend a dime!

hamsters are great because if u are busy u just ignore them they dnt care but them when u take the time to love em and give em attention they are eternally greatful. they are easy to care for and quiet and also they dnt smell if u keep their cage clean! I luv mine!!! just make sure u no for sure its not pregnant because I got mine from earlmay and they said it was a boy and it had 8 little babbies so um ya lol
