How do I convince my parents to let me get a red tint to my hair?

Not too dark just a light tint. They're pretty strict and just get mad when I ask them. Would you let your 14 year old daughter do that?

How do I convince them?

  1. Talk to your parents and find out what is available in the stores and the cost and yes there are temp hair dyes and even a gel which you style with that is a colour that washes out when you wash your hair.I also believe there is a program that you can add a pic of you to which it can colour and or you can see how different styles of hair would look on you. and with that program you could  print it out and show your parents what you are hoping for.

I too have coloured my full head of hair many times and with permanent colours and I also blow dry and use a straitner on it and havn't had to take any other special care of my hair other then wash and condition it like i normally would anyway.( I have long hair)

And yes I let my kids even now add a temp colour of thier choice after it has been talked about and agreed upon for the summer. My mother in law streaked it with a bleach and then we used a temp hair dye on the lighter streaks. As they both have medium to dark hair. my kids are 5 and 8 and I am lucky enough to have a mother in law who used to be a cetified hair dresser who helps me  dye both my and my kids hair. so yes there is a profesional who knows what they are doing.

goodluck with your parents and if they still say no, ask what it is you can do to prove you are responcible to make the discision you want to make or how old you have to be before you can make the change you want. and be respectfull of thier wishes

  2. Aww i don't think there has any probs, yes if i had a 14 years old daughter i would let her do that...shes juz gonna have a prettier hair color so juz enjoy it!!hehe lol my parents r very strict 2, i think u better follow the rules from ur parents. If yes then yes....Have a nice day!

  3. Find a time, when your parents are happy mood. Then tell them that "many students in your school put red tint on their hair, and it looks beautiful, so can i please do it to my self, plz

    and tell them may plz's.

Maybe they will convince, or change your mind

  4. I would let my daughter..

If your going to pay for it urself then just get it done without them knowing .. yes they will be mad but what are they gonna do?! Just tell them its your hair and ur old enough to make choice of how you want ur hair.

  5. Although I would probably allow a 14 year old  to colour her hair,  I can see your parents point and school , doubt if they will like it. You could show them a picture or what you want and see if they change their mind , other than that I personally wouldn't go behind their backs , they will lose their trust in you , and may be even  more strict , good luck.

Sara why would you tell a 14 year old to disrespect her parents wishes .

  6. no I wouldn't let my 14 year old get tint in her hair she would have to wait til she was 16 when she's able to take care of it

  7. My parents did not let me get a hair color at that age either, they were even strict about the hair styles I kept. It was maddening.

How about buying some temperory highlights yourself, and then applying them for a day, just to let them know what it looks like? If they get too mad you can just wash it off.

But as a person who has colored her hair multiple times, I can tell you it needs a LOT of care or else your hair is going to suffer badly.
