  1. First of all, you should really decide if you want to go to London for school. Write down the pros and cons of living on your own. How old are you? Do you have financial support? When you get it all figured out. Present it to your parents, let them know that youre ready to live on your own. I believe you should stay with your parents where you have support and liability. Instead of living on your own. How will you pay for food and all? Have you checked out schools and expenses of living there? This is a big topic to think about. I think you should really do your research.

  2. i say you ask if they are in the financial status to do so, cuz if they arent you're being selfish. they cost more than you can imagine.

  3. The main problem you will have is convincing them to pay for you to come here. London is a very expensive city even for us English - I know that International students pay alot more because of accommodation and "special fees".

Make it clear to your parents how good it will look on your C.V in the future and you will be getting the best education in the world. We have some of the best schools/universities in the world.

  4. let them know you are serious. i studied abroad in Ireland when i was 15, Im also from the Us and somehow convinced my parents. first, break it to them, so its on their minds, then get all of the info and do a little presentation about the school, the city ect. then give it some time to soak in and see what happens.

Dont expect them to say yes right away, they really do have to consider it!

  5. If your parents think you're responsible and trust  you to be on your own

  6. Something to keep in mind is that boarding schools in the UK require you to have a guardian living in the UK as an emergency contact (family member, family friend etc) and what about holidays? Surely you won't be able to fly home every holiday?

Have you really thought it through?

  7. If it factors into your future plans and you are old enough to argue your point than you have a good chance, you would have already had to established yourself as a responsible young adult though, otherwise your parents will see you leaving as a potential risk to your well being.

  8. Well, tell them everything good about the boardings school such as safety, academics, and opportunities you won't get elsewhere. Tell them why you want to go and have plan for everything. Like what will happen when you get there and so on. Good luck on going to London!

  9. london is crazy... sooo many people. what's wrong with america? if you go, you'll have to kiss the sun goodbye. you should respect your parents... how old are you?

  10. Start by doing your research on the boarding school you want to go to, including the area in London that the school is in. Some neighborhoods are much safer than others. Once you've done that, present your research to your parents.

Then, ask them why they have reservations about you going. It's very important. It's important to stay calm. It's important to show them that you're mature enough to handle it.

If you manage to convince them, some things you can do to get ready for your trip is get the passport (currently $100), research local laws, and learn how to pack light as well as to use public transportation! Boarding room dorms can be small, so pack as little as possible, and nearly everyone in London uses public transportation, so try riding the local bus a few times to get used to the feel.

Also, get a good guidebook to help you through your first few weeks/months. I suggest either Rick Steves (http://www.ricksteeves.com) or Frommers. Frommers is highly knowledgeable, and Rick Steves knows everything about packing and saving money.
