Question:

How do I convince my parents to let me homeschool?

I really want to try homeschooling. I've done some research and think it would be better for me than the public school I am currently enrolled in. My parents don't want to make the switch though. They don't think they can handle it, but I believe I could pretty much teach myself, with the right books. Any help or suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  1. Umm. Maybe search for Pros and Cons of homeschooling in yahooanswers and sit down with them. Explain to them that you are determined that you can do this and that you at least think you should try it. And show them the reasons why you want to home school.

*Give them time, too. Parents don't like it when children keep going on and on on a subject.

    Good luck!

  2. I convinced my parents by telling them all the bad things that would probably happen to me in public school and hinted at others. It took awhile, but it worked.....write down the reasons you want to be homeschooled and how it will benefit you more than your current school.

  3. what "right books"? i would go to school, if i was you. well you decide :0

  4. try to find an online program near by. that's what might be best for you if you like the idea of self-concept. I'm doing it : )

  5. maybe you can get a tutor

  6. well homeschooling is alot of work and it can be costly but here's website and its to the homeschool i go too. its realy cool there.
