How do I convince my parents to let me participate in air-soft skirmishes?

Question

I already have an airsoft gun. I just would like to be able to skirmish. They think it's really dangerous and I'm going to get shot in the eye through the paintball mask I have. It doesn't make sense but, you know how they are. Any ideas on how to prove to them I can handle it?

Tell them point-blank, "First of all I promise to wear eye protection."

(Safety goggles costing less than 2$ from the hardware store will do nicely)

Secondly, "Look, the way things are going there's an excellent chance that in a few years I may find myself drafted into the army. I'd like to have at least a LITTLE harmless experience in learning how to avoid getting shot somewhere in the Middle East someday. I know you want me to go to college, but who's to say that next time around all college students will be immune from the draft? This harmless gaming may prevent you from having to attend my funeral someday."

Logic like that is hard to argue with.

When your wearing and airsoft / paintball mask or goggles the odds are 1 out of 10 that you will get shot i the eye because a paintball mask airholes are to small for the airsoft gun bullets to get into. SO i would suggest telling them what the odds are and they will most likely listen to you.

maybe if u shoot the eye protection at point blank they'll see it won't go thru.
