Question:

How do I convince my parents to let me sleepover?

My friend is having a birthday sleepover party. I wanna sleepover, but my parents say I can't because they would be really worried, they think they don't know the people and that they can't trust them even though they are really nice and always honesy, they don't think its safe, and they don't like the idea. Whenever I ask them why don't they like the idea or why they don't think it's safe, they only say "Because." Please help me and give me ways to convince them. They only said I can stay at the party for a little and not sleepover but then I would be missing a lot cuz the party is like, 18 hours long including the sleeping time (I highly doubt they will sleep a lot) Please help!

  1. write a letter or email to your parents explaining why you think you should go and all the details. this way you can remeber everything you want to say to them. or get them to talk to your friends parents. tell them that you want a resonable answer on why you can't go.

  2. Ahah parents can be like that, don't worry [:

Tell them that your friend's mom will be home the whole time.

Tell them (if this is what they are concerned about) that your friend's dad will not be home.

You girls are old enough and mature enough to not do anything stupid.

You will stay in the house.

    The doors will be locked.

The parents do not own a gun. (crazy thought.. I wouldn't include this lmao)

You'll call them in the morning.

They can call you at any time.

The girls there are all the same age.

You really want to go, you deserve to go.

YOU know and trust all the girls there.

It's a birthday party & you want to celebrate.

You can even get your friend's mom to call your mom and let her know that everything will be okay and that she will be there to chaperone the whole time as well.

Also, ask your friend to print out an invitation for you saying the address, house phone number, cell number, time of party, and all that information. My friend actually NEEDED the invitation in order to go to my other friend's bday sleepover, it helped her parents trust that she was going to the house and not running off to another party or something ahah. Maybe showing your parents the invitation will help you out too?

I hope you get to go!
