How do I cook Flat Iron Steak?

I have some Flat Iron Steak I need to cook, but not a lot of ingredients. I have never cooked a steak before at all. I basically just have the Steak and some Vegetable Oil, and maybe a few seasonings. What is the easiest way to cook a Flat Iron Steak with no extras?

  1. salt and pepper. you could make a peppered steak, all you have to do is add a lot of big chunks of pepper. also, if you have some cayenne, put some for a bit of kick. some thyme would be good too.


  2. Ingredients

    1 (1-lb.) flat iron steak

    2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning

    1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

    1 tablespoon vegetable oil

    Preparation

    1. Rub steak evenly with steak seasoning and salt.

    2. Cook in hot oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat 4 to 5 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness. Let stand 5 minutes. Cut diagonally across the grain into thin strips.

    Note: For testing purposes only, we used McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning.
