How do I cook a bean pattie all the way?

I made some bean patties the other day (for the first time). they came out tasting pretty good but the middles were still soft. i mashed the beans, put some tomatoe sauce and bread crumbs and then mixed it together. i added a little more bread crumbs to make it dryer so that it would cook faster. (i cooked it on the stove with olive oil) i found out that i couldnt cook it too long because it started to burn, so i was left with the middles being really soft still. ne advice? thanks

  1. did you use premade frozen ones or homemade ones?

if theyre frozen look at the directions on the box

if you made them look around online for recipes or try cooking on a lowere heat to cook thoroughly, stick a fork in to feel if its still soft

  2. It sounds like you made the patties to thick, or you were cooking them at to high of heat. If you want thicker patties you need to cook them in the oven like you would a bean loaf. You may want to use water, or egg if your lacot-ovo, instead of tomatoe sauce next time too.
