  1. Open both your images in Photoshop. In the one that you want to copy into another image, do a Command +A (on a Mac), or a Ctrl + A (on a PC) to Select All. Now go up to the Move tool in your tools palette, it will look like an arrowhead with a sort of plus sign next to it. Click on that. Then click on the image you are copying and drag across into the image you want to paste into. This will bring a copy of that first image into the second image and put it on its own layer so you can then manipulate it independent of the background. If it's too big, go to Edit>Transform>scale. Hold down the shift key if you want to scale equally horizontally and vertically. When you have the size you want, hit the Enter key (on a PC) or Return (on a Mac) to accept the transform.

    Hope that helps.

  2. if a simple ctrl+c then ctrl+v isn't working for you, you could always try to take a printscreen, then paste into a program such as paint, and save the file, then re-open the picture in photoshop. Hope this helped!
