How do I correctly bridge single coil subs to a 4 channel Amp?

I have 2 12" subs:

(4ohm)

single voice coil

450 watts--each

RMS 225 watts--each

I want to maximize the power from my Amp:

RMS OUTPUT: 280W / 4CH @ 2 OHM

200W / 4CH / @ 4 OHM

BRIDGED: 280W / 2CH @ 4 OHM

--which keeps overheating.

How should I have the terminals connected, and to which channels, which terminals/channels should be left alone?

  1. you should use the 2ch @ 4 ohms but i cant tell you which terminals to use without knowing what kind of amp it is, could you post a link or something?
