How do I correctly pack my battery charger in the front pocket of my laptop case?

I need to start taking my laptop to school and need my charger. I need to pack the charger in the front pocket of the laptop sleeve, but am worried that the cord will rip. How should I pack the charger without causing damage to the wires. I try to form the wires into an "8" figure but they come undone as it enters the case.

Use an elastic band, wire twist or a small plastic bag for the power supply.
