Question:

How do I correctly punctuate this sentence?

The question one should ask, however, is not, “Who are you?” but, more so, “What describes who you are?”

I threw commas in everywhere but I don't think that I got it right. Can someone please help?

  1. it looks fine to me-well done.

  2. Your punctuation for this awkard sentence is OK. The best thing you could do to clean it up would be to get rid of the "more so,". Try it and see.

  3. I think there should be a comma after "who are you?".

  4. The question one should ask, however, is not "Who are you?" but "What describes who you are?"

    alternately...

While the question "Who are you?" is posed more often, the real question is "What describes who you are?"

  5. I think it's correct the way it's listed.  I think that it's a little awkward though.  I would write it as follows:  The question one should ask is not, "Who are you?" but, more accurately, "What describes who you are?"
