I have a Sony HandyCam DCR-SR42 Hard Drive Camcorder.

How do I create video's that can upload onto youtube?

I have windows XP home edition, is there a software I can use to edit and import video from my handycam?

Why does Sony have to make MP3 audio and video two different files?!

Your computer probably came with Windows Movie Maker. I would try that. If your camcorder has a USB hookup, then open up WMM, connect your camcorder to your computer with the USB cord, and import video from your camera. It's very easy to use to edit video and add in transitions and effects. You'll find extensive guides anywhere online.
