I'm trying to create a downward smooth sloping demand curve similar to: http://www.squidoo.com/longtail

Is there a formula to do this?

Okay it would be a line graph.  There is no formula you use data in the cells in excell and then you use that data in those cells to create your graph.  It is a line graph though.

Okay I think this explains it perfectly.  Good Luck.

X Axis and Y Axis data in two columns.  You get the gist.

  2. No, there's no built in formula in Excel that you can use. But here's a neat trick that might help you out.

Type a few numbers that are going down in value in a single column--3 numbers are enough. Then use Excel's Chart Wizard to graph them for you.

You'll get a downward sloping straight line, which is how demand curves are often drawn or illustrated for simplicity.

The only other way is to use the drawing feature to actually draw one. But the chart wizard method is a little easier, especially for beginners.
