How do I create a ringtone for my iphone?

I want to create ringtones from songs that I have downloaded, but were not purchased form iTunes. How do I do it?

You have to already own the song.  The song also has to have a bell next to it for it to be made into a ringtone.  This method will require you to buy the song twice (once for the song and once for the ringtone).  There is a better way however. This is what I use:  http://www.audiko.net/en.html

unfortunately, it is very difficult to do so without buying the song from itunes. That being said, some programs have been made but most you have to pay for or dont  work anymore. The only other way to make a ringtone that i know of is with my Jailbroken Iphone which has an application that allows me to convert any song into a ringtone. So, unfortunately i think you're pretty much out of luck.
