  1. listen to what you like, and if you can fford it, then buy it. infinity subs are pretty good for they price as well as their components. jl audio is good all around, but its expensive. alpine has good amps. its all about what YOU like.

  2. Go for anything which worth the money you pay for

  3. if you are serious you need to look into at setup that has at least 400watts RMS

you need to stick with CEA-compliant brands- which means that the amps have been tested and produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion and the subs can handle their advertised RMS wattage also

here are the top CEA-compliant brands

    Alpine (highly recommend)

    Bazooka (don't like their subs)

    Blaupunkt (don't like their subs)

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity (highly recommend)

    JBL

JL Audio (very good but over priced)

    JVC

    Kenwood (don't like their subs)

Kicker (the best in my opinion)

    Memphis

    MTX (highly recommend)

    Orion

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio (highly recommend)

    PPI

    Rockford Fosgate (highly recommend)

    Sony (don't like their subs)

you always get what you pay for, here is a nice setup (around $400)

these subs and box http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3867... with this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8651... or this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5027...

inside i would use Infinity speakers (kicker, JL audio, alpine, or kenwood) and if you dont plan to put an amp to them dont get ones that will require more than about 35watts RMS each because the radio cant properly power speakers that require more wattage--- when you turn up the voulme they will start to sound distorted (distortion is the main cause of speaker damage) because they are underpowered

look for the ones that have a high sensitivity because a speaker with a sensitivity rating that's 3 dB higher than another speaker's only needs half as much power to deliver the same amount of sound

you also want to get the proper size wire and fuse, here is a chart to help (i recomend 4gauge or better for all sub installs) http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/learnin...

  4. go to any sound audio store, they will tell ya everything you need to know
