Another useful web-coding tutorial site is Tizag Tutorials (at http://www.tizag.com/).  They go beyond the basics of HTML with tutorials on CSS (cascading style sheets) and other technologies that provide more power.

Another option would be to use a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) HTML editor.  The gold standard is Adobe Dreamweaver, but it is very expensive.  A free but not as powerful alternative would be N|vu (at http://www.nvu.com)

Learning html would be a good start. Try W3schools they have great tutorials to get you started and you can learn the basics in a day.
