Question:

How do I cry my problems out?

Just as the question states. I feel so confused, and pressured. I've been building up all this stress, depression, and negativity for the last 3 years. I am miserable. All I want to do is let it all out so I can feel better, but I'm incapable of crying, it's almost like I'm too used to hiding my feelings.

  1. talk to a friend you trust. once you start getting all the stuff out, you'll start crying.  :)

  2. Like you say, you have been hiding your feelings. It is the feelings you need to cry out, not the problems- the problems are another challenge.

To experience your feelings through crying you will need a place that feels safe to you where you will not be disturbed by other people. You will need a large bottle of water to prevent dehydration. Try to avoid screaming as this will get you agitated and may bring up very intense memories and feelings you are not ready to deal with.

Do not expect one good cry to make everything better but you will feel some improvement if you let yourself cry.

    You may benefit from counseling.

  3. Watch a sad movie just to get things started. Good luck to you. You will feel at least a little better once you have a good cry.
