I have an odyssey linear brake cable. It's about 45 inches long, and I need to cut it down, a lot. How do I do it without ruining the cable?

  1. are you asking about the inner wire only, if so fit it first then cut it using very sharp cutters and leave about 3" spare.

If its the outer cover this needs cutting to length before fitting, again with sharp cutters making sure you do not leave frayed ends on either, oh, and if its a double ended freestyle cable, you can,t alter the length without ruining it!

  2. Good luck with a cable cutter tool and finding one that cuts without deforming and fraying the cable.

I've seen a Dremel tool cut clean.
