How do I deactivate a computer (for Yahoo Unlimited Music) that I no longer have?

I need to since i can only have two active at any one time.

  1. The only official way to unregister a PC from YMU is to go into Yahoo Music Jukebox on that PC and click the Remove License button.  (It's in the Preferences section somewhere.)

    If you don't have the computer any more, or if it dies, or if you reformat the disk, or even if you just reinstall YMJ without first unregistering YMU, then you are stuck.  I know it is dumb, but that is the way Yahoo set it up.

    At this point, your only option is to contact Customer Service, explain the situaiton, and ask them to reset your license count.  This happens to people a lot (duh!), so they see this type of request a lot.

    BTW, you can have up to 3 PCs licensed at a time with a YMU subscription, not 2, unless they changed it recently.  If you have YMU To Go, you can additionally license up to 2 MP3 players.
